These projects started from a need to be alone in open space. I am drawn to places that are not crowded, where there is room to move and think, and where nothing is asking for attention. Wide coastlines, empty land, changing weather. I look for locations where I can spend time without interruption.

Light plays a big role in how I choose where to go. I am drawn to low light and overcast conditions, to moments where things feel muted rather than dramatic. I am not interested in peak moments or ideal conditions. I prefer when a place feels quiet, slightly withdrawn, or indifferent to being photographed.

I usually stay in one area for longer than planned. Walking the same routes, returning at different times of day, letting familiarity replace first impressions. I do not go with a list of images in mind. The projects develop slowly, shaped by time spent outside, movement through the landscape, and attention to small changes rather than events.

These projects are not about documenting locations. They are about being present in spaces that allow for distance and focus. The images come out of that time rather than being the reason for it.
